About Custom Fencing Solutions

An owner-led Lexington fence company building aluminum and custom wood fences for homes across Central Kentucky.

Built around two things: aluminum and wood

Custom Fencing Solutions is a Lexington, Kentucky fence company owned and run by Carlos Henson. We build two kinds of fence: aluminum and custom wood. Keeping that focus means we know the materials, the hardware and the small details that make each one look right and last.

Most of our work is for homeowners in Lexington and the surrounding Bluegrass, where yards roll, rock is common just below the surface and winters swing between freezing and thawing. Those conditions decide how a fence should be laid out, how posts should be set and which material suits each part of a property.

Every fence starts with a conversation about what it needs to do: keep a dog in, screen a patio, enclose a pool or finish the front of a house. From there we measure, plan around your neighborhood rules and give you a written quote. You can follow recent builds on Instagram at @customfencingsoluti.

Our mission

To build fences that fit the property, follow the rules and still look right years after the last post goes in.

Every homeowner should know exactly what they are getting: the footage, the materials, the gates and the price, before any work starts.

Our goal

To be the fence company Central Kentucky homeowners recommend to their neighbors by name.

We want a straight, well-built fence to be the reason the next call comes from next door.

Respect for your property

Utility lines marked before digging, a tidy work area and a final walkthrough with you once the fence is up.

Fence questions we hear most

Quick answers on materials, costs, permits and timing.

Does an aluminum fence rust?
No. Aluminum does not rust the way steel and iron do. Residential aluminum fencing also has a powder-coated finish that protects its color, so upkeep is usually just an occasional wash with soap and water.
Does an aluminum fence give privacy?
Not much. Aluminum pickets are open by design, which is ideal for front yards and pools but not for screening a patio. Many homeowners use aluminum at the front and a wood privacy fence in the back.
How long does a wood fence last in Kentucky?
A well-built wood fence often lasts 15 to 20 years with regular sealing. Humid summers and freeze-thaw winters are hard on wood, so the quality of the lumber, how the posts are set and how often the fence is sealed make the biggest difference.
How much does a fence cost in Lexington, KY?
Fences are priced mainly per linear foot, plus gates. Published Lexington cost guides put an installed 6 ft wood privacy fence at roughly $20 to $27 per foot, and national guides put aluminum at roughly $20 to $55 per foot. Your price depends on footage, height, style, gates and ground conditions, so the only accurate number is a quote after measuring. Call 859-351-1886 to arrange one.
How do I get an estimate?
Call 859-351-1886 or use the contact form. Share your address or nearest town, roughly how many feet of fence you need, the material you are leaning toward and any gates. Photos of the fence line help. We then arrange a time to measure.
Do I need a permit for a fence in Lexington, KY?
Yes, if the fence is 24 inches or taller. Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government requires a permit for all fences and walls 24 inches or higher above grade, applied for online with a site plan. Properties in historic (H-1) or neighborhood design (ND-1) overlays may have extra requirements, and HOA and deed restrictions are separate from the city permit.
How do I know where my property line is?
Start with your recorded plat or the survey from your mortgage closing, which usually show the lot lines. If the line is unclear or a neighbor disputes it, a licensed surveyor can stake it. It is worth confirming before a fence goes in.
How long does fence installation take?
Most residential fences take one to a few days on site once materials are in hand. Long runs, rocky ground, many gates or weather can add time. Permits, HOA approval and 811 marking happen before installation day.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Lexington and serve Central Kentucky, including Georgetown, Nicholasville, Versailles, Winchester, Paris, Richmond, Frankfort and nearby towns. Call 859-351-1886 if you are not sure whether we cover your address.
